A PAIR OF DERBY SPRING CANDLESTICKS, C1770 of a seated boy or girl, with lamb or dog respectively, before bocage, 16cm h, incised N281Bradshaw, Peter (Derby Porcelain Figures 1750-1848) writing in 1990 was unaware of the existence of examples of shape 281 and proposed possible contenders, both of which he illustrated (figs 279 & 280).
