A PERSIAN CHALCEDONY AMULET the oval stone engraved with tulips set in silvered brass, 3cm l, old label attached and six other items to include an ancient Egyptian agate bead said to be from an hollow altar at Thebes (from Lord Hastings Collection acquired from C Clements in 1911), the neck of a miniature stone vessel, a brass lion mask fitting, possibly a harness strapping and an ivory relief bearing label "Head of Dimitius Greek 4th cent BC 5026"Provenance: (Amulet) Clark Maxwell Hill Collection, sold Sotheby's 1906; (and other items) Gaze Cooper Collection: thence by descent to the present vendors.
