RICHARD COSWAY, RA (1742-1821) A LADY in white dress and cap with blue bow, sky background, ivory, oval, 6.7 x 5.5cm, gold frame with plaited hair in blue glass surroundThe attribution to Cosway has been confirmed by Dr Stephen Lloyd, who observed that it is "a fine example of Cosway's mature style" and probably dates from the late 1780s or early 1790s (private communication).
