[D.H. LAWRENCE ASSOCIATION/INTEREST] WEEKLEY, ERNEST - WORDS AND NAMES London, John Murray, 1932. First edition, 8vo, presentation inscription signed by the author and dated 1933, original cloth; WEEKLEY, ERNEST - A PRIMER OF HISTORICAL FRENCH GRAMMAR London, Blackie, 1899. First edition, cloth, library bookplate and stamps, presented by Weekley to the Nottingham Public Library, end-paper loose. Weekley married Frieda von Richthofen in 1899, with whom he had three children. In 1912, whilst still married to her husband Ernest, Frieda met D H Lawrence - a former student of her husband. Frieda and Lawrence soon embarked on a notorious love-affair which resulted in them eloping to Germany, with Frieda leaving her children behind. Following her divorce from Weekley, Frieda and Lawrence married in 1914 (2)
