[CHARLES DICKENS INTEREST] - A FINE 19TH CENTURY FOLIO ALBUM OF WATERCOLOURS OF BUILDINGS AND VIEWS

[CHARLES DICKENS INTEREST] - A FINE 19TH CENTURY FOLIO ALBUM OF WATERCOLOURS OF BUILDINGS AND VIEWS RELATING TO THE LIFE OF DICKENS AND HIS NOVELS containing 93 fine original sepia watercolours over pencil on folio-sized sheets, loosely contained in a purpose-made original portfolio binding with gilt lettering to the upper board and spine 'RAMBLES IN LONDON WITH CHARLES DICKENS', half red morocco leather with cloth boards and ties. All of the well-executed watercolours have an original caption in ink, and some have additional captions in pencil which identify the relationship between the watercolour subject and Dickens, eg 'The Polygon Somers Town' has the added pencil caption 'Bleak House', 'The Rackit Court in the Old Fleet Prison' has added 'Pickwick', etc. There is no obvious indication as to who the artist was, but this is a substantial archive and a work of great dedication which reflects the strong interest in Dickens in the latter half of the 19th century
