JANSEN, CORNELIUS - PARAPHRASIS IN PSALMOS OMNES DAVIDICOS cum argumentis et Annotationibus [bound with:] IN PROVERBIA SALOMONIS ACCURATISSIMA ET DOCTISSIMA COMMENTARIA. Lugduni (Lyon, France), Apud Petrum Landry, 1596. Two volumes bound in one, thick folio, titles in red and black with large woodcut printer's devices, leaves from another 16th century work bound in as endpapers, woodcut initial letters throughout, first title with manuscript annotations, bottom corner of first few leaves worn/dog-eared, bound in limp vellum with elaborate manuscript lettering to spine. Jansen (1510-1576) was the first Bishop of Ghent; TAMBURINI, TOMASSO - OPERA OMNIA Venetiis (Venice), Apud Antonium Giraldi, 1689. Two volumes bound as one, folio, half-title with early manuscript annotation, title pages in red and black with large woodcut printer's devices, full vellum, spine worn and upper joint cracked. Tamburini (1591-1675) was an Italian Jesuit moral theologian who entered the Society of Jesus when fifteen years old. He was professor of philosophy for four years, of dogmatic theology seven years, of moral theology seventeen years, and was rector of various colleges; plus another 17th century folio theological work (3)
