Chinese ceramics from the Neolithic period to the Qing Dynasty and beyond, including Yixing stoneware and blue and white and other porcelains, export wares, lacquer, jade, glass, snuff bottles, carvings, furniture and scholarly objects are all regular features of Mellors & Kirk’s quarterly Fine Art Sales.  A high level of research and well written and produced catalogues will ensure that the price realised will be no less than might be achieved elsewhere.  Larger auctioneers, particularly those in London are increasingly likely to lot together items that Mellors & Kirk would sell individually in order to maximise the return to the seller.

Notable recent successes include the late 18^th century pseudo Tobacco Leaf pattern dinner service that made an above estimate £40,000 and this serene 18^th century blanc de chine figure of Guanyin which sold for £25,000.
